Overview of the Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

The exact responsibilities will depend on which customer service role you are hired for, as they have several. But some of the basic duties include the following: 

  • Answer incoming telephone calls from customers.
  • Assist customers with all questions and concerns regarding credit cards or mortgages.
  • Understand customer needs and inform them about the advantages of using the company’s products and services.
  • Research and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Demonstrate an interest in assisting customers.
  • Resolve customer issues on the first contact.
  • Offer assistance in a patient and professional manner.
  • Walk customers through navigating the company’s website.

Education and Qualifications Needed

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following:

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Must have at least two or more years of previous customer service experience.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent telephone skills.

Technical Requirements

You must have a quiet home office free from distractions and high-speed, hard-wired internet service.

Work Schedules

The company services customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers a variety of schedules. You should be flexible with your schedule and expect to work every other weekend. 

Training

All training is completed remotely and is paid for by the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay for this position starts at $18.00 to $19.80 per hour. 

This is a W2 employee position, and benefits are offered to eligible employees. Some employee benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a matching 401K program.
