Teleperformance hires customer service representatives and technical support representatives to work at home, and they hire in many states across the United States. 

This company is an excellent choice for people who don’t have any previous work-at-home experience. And, many of their positions don’t require any prior customer service experience either. 

What is Teleperformance?

Teleperformance is a call center services company that was founded in 1978 and is based in France. The company has over 330,000 employees and offers services in more than 170 countries and over 265 languages.

Overview of Customer Service and Technical Support Representative

The following is a general overview. The exact responsibilities and qualifications will depend on each client.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of these positions include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service to each customer.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and system issues.
  • Communicating with upset customers and resolving problems on the first call.
  • Exercising efforts to retain customers when necessary.
  • Entering customer data into different software programs.
  • A timely follow-up to customer inquiries.

Education and Skills Needed

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have a typing speed of at least 25 words per minute.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Outstanding listening skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.

Technical Requirements

You must have a quiet home office or space free from distractions and noise. You also must have the following:

  • Desktop or laptop computer.
  • Windows operating system, which is 8.1 or newer.
  • At least 4GB RAM.
  • At least 5GB free hard drive space.
  • Dual-Core processor.
  • Computer must have at least two unused USB ports.
  • Monitor must be at least 15 inches with a minimum resolution of 1280 x 1024.
  • High-speed, hard-wired internet service.
  • At least 2 Mbps upload and 12 Mbps download.

Some clients of Teleperformance will supply a computer for work.

Training

All training is completed remotely from home and is paid for by the company.

Eligible States

Teleperformance does not hire in all states. However, the company hires employees to work from home in 38 states. You can view a map of eligible states by going here. Eligible states are depicted in dark blue.

Pay and Benefits

The pay will depend on the exact position and the client you’re hired to work for. However, it can start anywhere from $11 to $16 per hour, and they pay biweekly.

The company offers employee benefits such as medical insurance and a 401K retirement plan.
