Overview of the Call Center Representative

The Call Center Representative responds to customer queries by phone to resolve issues in accordance with the organization’s service standards. Receives and/or places outbound phone calls. Responds to customer phone inquiries, orders, service needs, and complaints where appropriate or route to technical/service departments.


A few of the duties include:

  • Resolve basic card activation requests.
  • Resolve basic inquiries regarding payments.
  • Update name and address requests for cardholders. 
  • Use scripted or standardized responses to inquiries.
  • Enter data into databases and systems.
  • Escalate customer grievances to the appropriate department for further resolution.

Education and Qualifications Needed

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following:

  • Have a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Have at least nine months of previous contact center experience.
  • Ability to learn and apply company policies and procedures to routine tasks.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work under close supervision.

Technical Requirements

You must have a quiet home office or work area free from distractions. You will also need to have DSL or cable internet service with speeds of at least 20MBPS download and 10MB upload. Wireless internet is not permitted.

The company will provide a computer for work purposes.

Work Schedules

The company operates 24/7, so you must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.


All training is completed remotely and paid for by the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay for this position starts at $15 per hour.
