If you’ve never worked from home before, Alorica is a great company to start with because they don’t require any previous work-from-home experience, and some of their positions don’t even require any previous customer service experience.

What is Alorica?

Alorica was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Irvine, CA. They offer outsourced call center services to their business clients. They service several industries, such as healthcare, retail, financial services, and travel & hospitality.

They hire work-at-home Customer Service Representatives for customer service, technical support, and sales functions involving both inbound and outbound calls. They offer different shifts and have both full-time and part-time positions.

Responsibilities

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the work-at-home Customer Service Representative include helping customers via telephone, live chat, and social media platforms. Attempt to identify and resolve customer issues. You may also be required to upsell to customers and escalate calls to supervisors.

Education and Qualifications Needed

All positions require at least a high school diploma or a GED. Some positions may prefer an associate degree, but it’s not required.

Some, but not all, positions require customer service experience, although the exact amount of experience isn’t mentioned.

You must be able to use a phone and computer systems and have excellent comprehension and listening skills.

Because sometimes you’ll be dealing with disgruntled customers, you’ll need to have patience and be able to stay composed.

Most positions will require you to be familiar with software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Technical and Home Office Requirements 

You’ll need to have a private, distraction-free workspace.

You can have either a desktop or a laptop computer that is no older than three years old. Your computer must be a PC. No Macs are allowed. And your operating system must be Windows 10 or higher.

Your internet must be high-speed, hard-wired DSL, cable, or fiber optic, with a minimum upload and download speed of 2MBPS. No WiFi, satellite, or hotspot.

You must have a monitor that is at least 17 inches or larger.

You must have a sound card with speakers or a headset for training.

The above are basic requirements but can vary according to each client’s needs. Each job posting will state exactly what the client requires.

Pay and Benefits

The starting pay can range from $14 to $18 per hour, depending on the client/project you’re hired for.

These positions are W-2, employee positions, so full-time employees are eligible for benefits.

Training

All training is 100% remote and is completed at home, you don’t need to train on-site. Training is also paid.
